Shuk's coconut mousse & flat white
BREAKFAST / BRUNCH
Views of Bondi Beach, a coconut chia pot that's basically dessert for breakfast but way healthier, and Instagram-worthy pancakes....need I say more?
I've spent more time in this cafe than any other restaurant in Sydney (or ever, maybe) just because it's comfy, the staff are amazing and I can't get enough of the fresh sourdough. My personal favorites: avo toast, baked eggs with kale & ricotta, and the smoothie bowl.
Four Ate Five
It's almost a guarantee you'll have a bit of a wait before you can sit down, but this place is so worth it! All day breakfast includes dishes like baked eggs with feta and stuffed French toast.
Hidden in a residential area, this gem has great coffee and Mediterranean food. The shakshuka is amazing, as is the coconut yoghurt mousse when you're craving something sweeter.
Fresh juice, large portions, and great wifi; this is the kinda place for a relaxing mid-week lunch.
It may not be the cheapest brunch (as expected in Double Pay), but the breakfast bruschetta and sweet potato fritters are so so yum.
Grounds of Alexandria
An Instagrammer's dream. Although crowded on the weekends, this dreamy place has a casual cafe and sit-down restaurant surrounded by lush plants and fairy lights, a flower shop, a market, and the cutest dessert carts. You'll spend hours here!
This place has Bondi written all over it. Come for the acai bowls, stay for the atmosphere and strong wifi.

Bondi & Surry Hills
Dumplings and small bites in a hipster-style spot with cozy seating, also great for early evening drinks.
A chic Chinese restaurant with mouth (and eye) watering dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, dumplings, and crispy pork belly. This place has "spice" in the title for a reason, so make sure you order one of their refreshing cocktails on the side!
Transport yourself to Italy in this cute "Nonna's kitchen" style restaurant.
This cozy casual place has great ambiance for a relaxed dinner, and really yummy tacos.
Hoooooly fried chicken. This isn't a sit down dinner kinda place, it's more like a 2am meal after a night out but the fried chicken & bacon tots are to die for.
Quality Thai food at a decent price, I highly recommend the duck curry- and bring along your fave wine because this place is BYO.
This Lebanese spot doubles as a late-night drunk snack OR a great sit down dinner. Bonus: it's BYO and if you go on Friday nights you'll get a belly dance show while you fill up on hummus.
I will always love a good tapas place, especially with a live Latin band on Fridays!
Another great BYO Thai place, this ones a little more casual. The Pad Thai is massive and I frequently dream about it.
It's not unusual to see a line outside of this place, and for good reason! Really great Malaysian food in a sit-down setting, and it's BYO.

One of the first places I went in Sydney, and the first place I recommend to visitors. Located underneath the Opera House, you can sip on (slightly expensive, but worth it) cocktails with the best views of the harbor.
Glenmore Hotel Rooftop
My favorite Sydney rooftop! A cozy spot and views of the Harbor Bridge and Opera House, what's not to love?
I will always be a sucker for speakeasies. This ones a gin bar in the back of an actual barber shop.
The Baxter Inn
Enter the dimly lit underground whiskey bar, tucked in the same alleyway as Barber Shop.
You might have some trouble finding this one, but hidden behind a Coke machine door is an American diner themed bar. Come on Thursdays for live bands playing Motown classics, and order the fried chicken burger!
This place is amazing- especially for a Sunday sesh. A backyard feel with amazing cocktails, a view of the water, live music, and a million food options. Bonus: they have a free shuttle to/from Manly.
Feel fancy while you sip on espresso martinis with a gorgeous view of Bondi Beach and the Icebergs swimming pool.
Beach Road Hotel
It doesn't look like much on the outside, but on Wednesdays & weekends this place is packed from the outdoor patio to the two upstairs dance floors.
Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel
Catch a ferry to Watsons Bay on a weekend and enjoy your drinks from the upstairs patio with beach cottagey vibes. But warning: watch the sunset from there and you'll never want to go home.
The Light Brigade
This rooftop has amazing views of the city & harbour bridge, come at sunset and you won't regret it!
My 2nd favorite for a Sunday sesh! Pay the $20 for bottomless tacos, trust me.
Sit on the rooftop and enjoy drinks with a view of the water - great for day drinks or evening!
So fun for a night out if you're in the dancey mood. Don't worry if dancings not your thing, they also have a sweet patio (fairy lights included).
I really love Newtown bars, but Webster's has to be my favorite. It's 3 levels, including an amazing rooftop.
